This Week - 11/11/2009
Last week we had a special acoustic night at The Hive in Los Angeles and on Monday we shared the last two years of work with many family and friends at the Montalban Theatre Listening Event. We also premiered "The Ride" a short film inspired by Kings and Queens. Thank you to all the people who came out to support us before we go on tour.

Along with some NEW pre-order packages for This Is War, you can also now pre-order the Making of This Is War Photo Book!

Book of the Week
Lord of the Flies by Nobel Prize-winning author William Golding discusses how culture created by man fails, using as an example a group of British schoolboys stuck on a deserted island who try to govern themselves, but with disastrous results. A Classic!

Beck - Sea Change
"'Beck's stripped-down, mellowest album shows a completely different side; from being one of the most irreverent artists to being one of the most sincere, this album showcases his vast range as a songwriter." - Jared

Food of the Week
Monsieur Vuong - Berlin, Germany
Alte Schönhauser Straße 46 10119 Mitte
Daily: Noon - Midnight
On top of the regular menu, a blackboard chalks up a couple of daily specials for around 6.50 Euros, normally a meat dish served with either rice or noodles (but they will replace the meat with Tofu for vegeterians).

A question to Tomo & Jared: Have you ever used finger picking or the clawhammer technique, like Donovan does when you play your guitars?
YES, WE ALSO USE THE CRAB TECHNIQUE AND THE RAVEN CLAW WHICH IS AN ANCIENT METHOD OF PICKING THE GUITAR STRINGS WITH THE TOES.
What do you think is most important in the music business nowadays: a unique sound, good lyrics, getting people involved and create a sense of community and unity or appeal to the teenagers or none of the above?
PROBABLY A LITTLE BIT OF THEM ALL. WE FOCUS ON PLAYING AND CREATING MUSIC AND SOUNDS THAT MAKE US HAPPY. YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IN WHAT YOU ARE PLAYING AND CREATING IF OTHERS ARE ALSO TO BELIEVE.
